Support McMurray Métis Local 1935 and Métis people of the RMWB in community, business and the social well being for today, and tomorrow.

The McMurray Métis (Métis Local # 1935) was founded in 1987 and governed under the bylaws of the Métis Nation of Alberta by an elected Local Council, McMurray Métis is accountable to its membership with a mandate to pursue the advancement of the Métis people of Fort McMurray and northeastern Alberta. The Métis are one of the recognized Aboriginal peoples of Canada under Section 35(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982. The mission of McMurray Métis is to pursue the advancement of the Métis people of Fort McMurray and northeastern Alberta. Achieving this requires the ongoing promotion, pursuit, and defence of the Aboriginal constitutional and other rights. This occurs through engagement with governments, regulatory agencies, stakeholder organizations, and the courts when necessary.

CCAB builds bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, businesses, and communities through diverse programming, providing tools, training, network building, major business awards, and national events.
Since its inception in 1928, the MNA is the Métis Government for Métis Albertans with its geographical and legal boundaries being the province of Alberta. The MNA is governed by a Provincial Council, comprised of a Provincial President and Vice-President, and six (6) regional Presidents and Vice-Presidents, all democratically elected. Together, this Council work toward the mandate of the MNA, which supports practices of transparency, accountability and inclusiveness for Métis Albertans in governments’ policy and decision-making processes, and overall, promotes and facilitates the advancement of Métis people through self-reliance, self-determination and self-management.
Rupertsland Institute (RLI) is an affiliate of the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) and is incorporated under the Non-profit Society’s Act. The Métis Nation of Alberta assigned RLI with a triple mandate in education, training and research. RLI’s vision is for a skilled, knowledgeable and self-reliant Métis Nation and is integral to enhancing the self-sufficiency and well-being of Alberta Métis through quality education, training and research.
The Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA) is a non-profit organization that consists of a growing interest group of Aboriginal Businesses, committed to enhancing and creating an environment, which promotes businesses, jobs, and training for the betterment of all aboriginal people in the region. Our association certifies that all Full Members are qualified by at least 51% Aboriginal ownership and are local to the Wood Buffalo region.
