Geoff Lee
Vice President, Operations
I moved here from Stephenville, Newfoundland, with my mother, Una, in 1977. I attended Father Turcotte school during elementary years, St. John’s junior high school, and Fr. Mercredi high school where I graduated in 1984. I met my beautiful wife, Natalie, in 1990 and we have been married for 33 years.
We are proud of our three children, all born and raised in Fort McMurray. Our eldest son, Zack, works at Suncor as an Instrumentation Engineering Technologist with a Journeyman Trade Certification. Our second son, Joshua, is a Journeyman Electrician with Enbridge Pipelines since graduating from Father Mercredi High School. Our youngest daughter, Jennifer, is in her fourth year of Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Keyano College. We have 3 grandchildren, Emmett, Emerson, and Jonah. We are very proud to say that we all live in Fort McMurray and call Fort McMurray home.
In 1984, when I graduated from high school, Fort McMurray was feeling the effects of low oil prices and work was hard to find. Fortunately, I was able to find work with a rental store company where I learned to repair small engines, operate equipment, drive and deliver equipment to customers. After a few years the company I worked for was awarded a scaffold supply contract with Syncrude Canada Ltd and I was offered the role of site manager representing the supply of scaffold to Syncrude’s Mildred Lake. Through this opportunity, I was offered a role with Syncrude in 1988 as general worker in the Syncrude scaffold yard and didn’t look back. I worked for Syncrude for 20 years and was able to acquire 2 trades and an ABSA certification, (Journeyman Automotive technician, Journeyman Millwright and 4th class Power Engineer). Through field experience I was promoted to work in Syncrude’s Upgrading Projects department as Project Manager.
In 2007 I left Syncrude and joined Suncor as Project Manager, soon thereafter I was asked to work as an Operational Excellence Manager in Extraction helping the Extraction Tailings area’s with improving their operations. I also held roles as Director of Offsite Utilities, Director of Planning and Compliance, Director of Regional Turnarounds and Projects. In 2023, I retired from Suncor as Director of Regional Projects Execution.
During the past four years my daughter, Jennifer, has been working towards her Bachelor of Nursing and has been a recipient of the McMurray Metis Bursary Award which has been very beneficial with her cost of tuition and books.
I have met so many caring and helpful people in Local 1935 who go above and beyond to support members. I really look forward to being a member of the Infinity Board of Directors and bringing my 47 years of experience to help Infinity Metis CORP continue to grow and support McMurray Metis members in Local 1935.

Doug Webb
Board Member
My siblings’ names are from oldest to youngest Kevin, Clarence, Riel, Mark, Myself, Colin, and my only sister Gloria.
I Was born in Fort McMurray in the St Gabriel hospital December 07, 1962, and have lived in Fort McMurray all my life, I went to Father Turcotte OMI Elementary school for grades 1-5, then to St. Johns Junior high grades 6-9 followed by Composite High school grades 10-12 graduating in 1981.
When I was in high school, I had a strong interest in the Carpentry trade and graduated with enough hours for first year apprentice, unfortunately there was a downturn in the economy, and I took what work I could get. I was working as a contractor at Syncrude Canada when I was hired permanently in December of 1986 where I eventually started my Automotive technician career, I then moved into the team leader position and was later transferred to Aurora to open the Automotive shop there as well as performing the duties as hiring manager for our department. I then changed my career path and became a part of procurement/Supply chain as the Indigenous Business liaison where I worked for the last 11years growing our Indigenous spend from 140 million per year to 1.3 billion until my retirement on January 31.2023.
I met and married my beautiful wife Karina who is from the Isle of Mann and grew up in Manchester England in 2000 and we had our only child Declan Shadowhawk Webb in 2001. Karina works as councilor in the school system, currently at Dave McNeilly until her retirement this year at the end of June.
Although we have travelled and continue to do so we both plan to stay in Fort McMurray for some time as we love it here.
As a Member of the Fort McMurray Metis #1935 and a community member I feel strongly about our place in Fort McMurray and helping others where I can. I believe I have some insight into the Syncrude/Suncor operations as well as history in the region having lived here all my life. My son Declan is attending the University of Alberta as an engineering student and has been a recipient of the bursary award and therefore it is important that we show our appreciation by helping and sharing where we can. I have played many sports throughout my life including track and field, racquet ball, triathlon, Squash, working out at the gym and boxing but have found a strong passion for golf and still play today and is one of the things I look forward and enjoy in my recent retirement. Your Humble servant Douglas Webb
